Transport and Environment Convener, Councillor Scott Arthur, said:

“In Edinburgh, we’re working hard to achieve net-zero by 2030 by cutting congestion and improving air quality, amongst other commitments. Road traffic is one of the biggest sources of carbon emissions, so we’re investing in projects which make it easy and safe for people to walk, wheel and use public transport in our capital city.”

“We’ve seen greenhouse emissions drop significantly in Edinburgh as part of our efforts, but the reality is the climate crisis isn’t going away. Our success in tackling this emergency depends upon everyone’s participation across society. Running Out of Time highlights the impact that taking collective action can have, and I look forward to welcoming and participating in the relay when it comes to Edinburgh.“
